Hipstamatic Rock the Vote Freepack

I am experimenting with the new Hipstamatic Rock the Vote free pack. This free pack contains two films plus one case. One film includes a border around the image and the other film includes random sayings relating to voting. You cannot pick which saying goes onto your picture or the location of the words. I will have to try experimenting with it more with different subject matter. I picked the glitter skull because I was looking for a Halloween themed still life, though it seems kind of strange with the text that it adds to the picture. I used the Salvador lens which gave it the multiple exposures in the image.

TiLT: Hipstmatic Retropak and Molly Crabapple’s Week in Hell

Still Life With Head Vases

This is a big weekend for Hipsta enthusiasts who have missed some of the limited edition paks. From June 10th through 12th the Hipstamatic Retropak One will be available and will include the coveted Salvador Dream Canvas and Lens from the Dali Hipstapack. You can read more about the various lenses and films included in Life in LoFi. The Retropak is $1.99 so get it or regret it!

I made a pledge to Molly Crabapple’s “Week of Hell” on Kickstarter this week. Her project is more than fully funded after just a couple of days and you can make a pledge to it until June 20th. She will be drawing in a hotel suite on walls covered with paper. The event will be live streamed for backers of the project. This is a great opportunity to acquire an original piece of her artwork. Backers will get pieces of the drawings cut from the walls and the sizes will correspond to the amount of the pledge. I’m looking forward to seeing the event in September.

I’m Posting Every Week in 2011

Snow day, originally uploaded by Ritaflo.

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a week for all of 2011 (and hopefully a little more than that). It seems a lot more doable than a 365 project. Last year I posted about 102 times, which is almost twice a week, so this will be a good experiment. So wish me luck!

And by the way, the above is a Hipstamatic photo taken on New Year’s Day using the Hipstamatic Dali Dream Canvas.

Year in Review: Hipstamatic 2010 New York

Hipstamatic 2010: New York, originally uploaded by Ritaflo.

2010 was my year of using Hipstamatic on my iPhone. One of my favorite aspects of Hipstamatic is the element of surprise. One is never sure of what the picture will look like until it finshes developing. 2010 was also a big year for going to New York. After about 10 years of visiting NYC very infrequently, this year I was all over the city, and visited Brooklyn for the first time. It was great to revisit some of my favorite places (and discover some new places) and see them through the various lenses and films of Hipstamatic. Here’s to more random shots for 2011!

Looking Up To The Angels (Hipstamatic Contest Entry)

I’ve entered this photo into the Hipstamatic Dali Contest. The top 100 will be projected on the facade of the Dali Museum. You can vote for it here for the next four days by tweeting it or “liking” it on Facebook. This photo was taken using the Dali Dream Canvas film from the Dali Museum Goodpack.
