Oksusha2000 For JKPP

I created these two portraits of Oksusha2000 on Flickr for Julia Kay’s Portrait Party. I loved that the artist posted photos of herself as a child and I wanted to give the portraits a dream-like quality. I used ArtRage and Sketchbook Pro on the iPad for both of these portraits.

just curious, are these actual iPad paintings or “trace-painted” using ‘ArtRage Tracing+Automatic Color Selection’? If so, its a bit streatch to call it “painting” made with Sketchbook Pro + Artrage. 🙂 (As in, anyone rubbing fingers over the iPad can make this same image).

If not, I truly apologize, they are far too perfect to be actually painted, and you have remarkable skill as an artist.

These two pictures are “digital collages”. I did not have have “painting” in the description. But thanks for pointing out that anyone can rub their fingers over the iPad can make the same image. 🙂

Sorry, didn’t mean it that way, I meant the ArtRage Tracing Part…My apologies. Collages are indeed unique, as you have taken the personality of the person and added images to enhance it. I just wanted to see how you did the painting part. I have u on my RSS feed, and everyday these portraits come thro, and I keep wondering…

Sorry too, I read last night right before bed and maybe took it the wrong way. In the next day or two I will put a little tutorial about how I put some of these together. I had taken a photoshop class about a year ago where we learned to restore photos and I kind of liked the idea of taking old photos and making them look older and more worn out. I use a lot of different apps like pic grunger and photoshop mobile to alter the photos before I import them into sketchbook pro or ArtRage. I’ll write more about in a future post. Here is also a link to a discussion on Flickr in the Julia Kay Portrait Party group about tracing Vs. Freehand in art here http://www.flickr.com/groups/portraitparty/discuss/72157624987723575/?search=Tracing

Which I didn’t particate in but think it’s very interesting to read.
